Breastfeeding Rooms on Campus
There are breastfeeding rooms located across campus. Two buildings offer weekend and after-hours Nursing Rooms: the MSU Union Building and the MSU Main Library.

Counseling and Psychiatric Services
Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) is the new place on campus for students seeking help for a wide range of concerns, including: depression, anxiety, stress management, homesickness, adjustment or acculturation, relationships, gender and sexual orientation (LBGTQ) issues, substance abuse, traumatic experiences, eating or body image concerns and other personal mental health concerns. CAPS puts students first, welcoming every student and taking into account all aspects of a student’s identity, such as race, ethnicity, culture, religion, language, gender and sexual orientation.

Facilitator Request 
The Academic Advancement Network, Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives, and WorkLife Office at MSU are working together to assist MSU departments/units in hosting facilitated conversations. A team of trained facilitators will be matched with your unit based on the goals that you identify in the form.

Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives
The Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives leads and supports efforts to advance a diverse and inclusive campus community, consistent with MSU’s core values. In addition to providing leadership for university-wide initiatives on inclusive excellence, the office works with campus and community partners to:

  • Design and deliver education and training for students, faculty, and staff
  • Coordinate programs to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and Cesar E. Chavez
  • Coordinate grants to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion on campus
  • Coordinate scholarships for community-involved students
  • Recognize through awards the efforts of Spartans to support an inclusive campus
  • Conduct and support research on inclusion-related topics

International Friendship Program
Volunteer opportunities for Greater Lansing Area residents to befriend and help International Students as they adjust to life at MSU.

Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, and Transgender Resource Center
The Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, and Transgender Resource Center (LBGTRC) serves the MSU Campus community by providing a variety of services centered around gender and sexuality. They are a center dedicated to leading and collaborating on university-wide initiatives that prepare students to thrive in our diverse world, and enhancing the campus climate and support services for students marginalized by their sexuality or gender!

Office of Institutional Equity
The Office of Institutional Equity reviews concerns related to discrimination and harassment based on age, color, gender, gender identity, disability status, height, marital status, national origin, political persuasion, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status and weight under the University’s Anti-Discrimination Policy and Policy on Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct. OIE staff is available to provide information on the policies, connect MSU community members to resources, investigate complaints and provide training.
