The work of 22 Graphic Design seniors will be displayed April 10-28 as part of the 2017 BFA Graphic Design Senior Exhibition for which each senior is given wall space in Kresge Art Center Galleries 101 and 114 to showcase their strongest work from their time at MSU.

The annual exhibition is the culmination of four years of hard work and hands-on learning, giving the senior student designers an opportunity to show their skills in graphic design, illustration, typography, branding, and packaging.

This year’s exhibition, titled “22,” is being planned and executed entirely by the students as part of their senior portfolio class taught by Assistant Instructor Mark Bird. Students have collaborated in teams to complete web design, poster design, social media advertising, and more.

“Having all of us work together to put on this event really prepares us for the real world and gives us experience in the different branches that we can go into after we finish our degree in Graphic Design,” said Chloe Jennings, Graphic Design senior.

An opening reception for the exhibition is scheduled for Thursday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. All featured artists will be present along with many Graphic Design faculty members. The event is free and open to the public.

“The Graphic Design program has molded many really solid designers over the years,” Bird said. “The class of 2017 is no exception.”
