Designed for students who wish to develop excellent reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in the French language, the French major also allows students to build a strong understanding of the history and culture of French communities throughout the world.

Many French majors choose to study abroad or complete internships abroad. Students who wish to earn teacher certification may apply to the teacher education program during their sophomore year.
