Peter Glendinning has been honored as one of 24 American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) “Best of 2015.” Founded in 1944, ASMP has more than 7,000 members and 39 chapters, and its members are among the most widely recognized photography professionals in all aspects of the medium.
Says Glendinning, “ASMP membership has given me so many insights into the ways and means of the profession, opportunities to work with creative art directors and others, and interactions through a network of professional
colleagues, that it literally changed the trajectory of my career as a photographer. It has also given me new entrepreneurial business and creative insights to share with my MSU students.
ASMP membership literally changed the trajectory of my career as a photographer.
“I have received many honors in my career,” Glendinning says, “but none can match this in terms of professional recognition in the medium of photography, and there is only one other I’ve received that comes even close to this in personal meaning, that being the MSU College of Arts & Letters Paul Varg Alumni Award for Faculty.”
