Office of Research

The Office of Research in the College of Arts and Letters supports the success of research and creative activity by:

  • Consulting with faculty in seeking public and private funding opportunities.
  • Supporting the proposal process for both internal and external grant funding.
  • Making connections to college and university resources necessary for project execution and dissemination.
  • Helping project teams build and sustain collaborative relationships.
  • Providing oversight for grant-based spending and reporting.

Through this work, the Office of Research contributes to a vibrant culture of research and creative activity across the college.

Grant Proposal and Funding Process

As soon as you decide you would like to submit a grant proposal, please reach out to the CAL Office of Research Team at CALResearch@cal.msu.edu or connect with a specific team member to set up an appointment.

For external grant proposals, Arts and Letters generally requests at least a one month notice to help ensure that we are able to meet MSU’s proposal submission deadline policy.
