Funding for research and creative activity comes from government and nonprofit organizations that span local, state, national, and international entities.

Michigan State University, the Office of Research and Innovation, and different units also provide funding opportunities including the Humanities and Arts Research Program (HARP).

The College of Arts and Letters, the Office of Research, and our departments and schools also fund different strategic research and community outreach priorities. Additionally, university and college endowments fund certain faculty roles and areas of research expertise.
