You are capable of more than the boxes you fit in.

I work at an interior and architectural design room. My role is to manage our resource library and artwork as well as assist with social media/website design, photography, and graphics. I am currently launching an art gallery for the company, and I’m displaying my own paintings.

Through my major, I was able to tap into a large range of skills. My educational background has helped me to manage and teach four interns as well as practice planning and organization. My art training has prepared me for varying tasks involving design, selection and creation.

My advice to fellow Spartans is to not let your degree define you. I have been able to find a job that I love in a field I wouldn’t have imagined I’d work in. You are capable of more than the boxes you fit in and employers already expect that from a Michigan State graduate.
