All MSU students working toward completion of a BFA in Graphic Design were required to participate in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design’s Day of Design on Friday, December 11. Held in the ground-floor main hallway of Kresge Center, graduate presentations were from 9 – 11 am, and undergraduate reviews were conducted from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. A pizza party and awards presentation followed.

Design reviews were casual discussions between individual students and faculty members where faculty reviewed design work completed during Spring and Fall 2015 semesters and provided feedback to the students. Review criteria included craftsmanship, originality/experimentation, verbal + visual presentation, and professionalism.

Students were encouraged to present five of their most successful projects from the past year; familiarize faculty with their design interests and experiences; and ask questions about future courses, internship, and other opportunities.

While students graduating in December 2015 were exempt from the requirement to participate, they could still do so, and it was highly recommended by design faculty.
